We stayed here from July 16 to 30. This is a wonderfully quiet and secluded place! We’ve had a tiny apartment with an awesome view of the city and a feeling of a cosy and familiar home. Even though not everything was entirely new — or, rather, because of this — it did not feel like a cold foreign hotel. Of course this was largely grace to the hostess, Gordana — a remarkably intelligent, both considerate and unobtrusive lady, with a great feel for tact and sense of humor. If you are driving, the location of the apartment will hardly matter to you, as the house is quite close to the Old City and within a 10-minute walking distance from shops, the post office, banks and the market. Our choice among the supermarkets was “Tommy”. Dubrovnik is not a large town at all, and everything is quite close there. If you aren’t driving and aren’t comfortable walking either, you can use the bus. You get to the bus stop by taking a leisurely 7-minute walk down the stairs. Though if walking is a pleasure for you, leave the car and don’t take the bus! Daily walks from the apartment around the town will give you a free bonus bundle of fitness, Pilates, and Feldenkrais exercise! One certainly needs to understand that the main thing about Dubrovnik is the Old City. It’s a fairy tale full of daily surprises! An observant tourist will find everything there, even tiny little beaches where you can only get through secret passageways in the city wall. A magic place for a magic holiday! Viktor i Tatiana
